29/5/2020 - 12/6/2020 / Week 7 - Week 9 Lim He Yu (0340423) Bachelor of Mass Communication (Advertising) / Typography Project 2A: Font Design  Lectures  Week 7 (Introduction and Briefing) This week we were briefed on the first part of Project 2, which is font design. We were tasked to design a new typeface with the letters " a i m e p y t g d o b ! , . ", using Adobe Illustrator and Font Lab to generate the typeface. Apart from that, we watched a video about creating typefaces from AIGA, which was really helpful as it explained the basics of designing a typeface. We were told to dissect and analyze a typeface, then draw at least 3 sketches of our font designs before digitizing the work.  Mr.Vinod also explained what we needed to know when it comes to designing a font. 17/6/2020 - 17/7/2020 / Week 10 - Week 14 Lim He Yu (0340423) Bachelor of Mass Communication (Advertising) / Typography Project 2B: Typography- Expression, Hierarchy and Composition   Lectures  Week 10 (Introduction and Briefing) This week we were briefed on the second part of project 2, which was to design an A3 poster with the tagline of our liking. After that, we were instructed to express the tagline through type expression. Finally, we had to animate the overall design. Before jumping into the process of designing, we had to come up with three taglines to be used in our design.  Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul gave us advice and feedback for our progress of our blogs as well. 17/4/2020 - 8/5/2020 / Week 1 - Week 4 Lim He Yu (0340423) Bachelor of Mass Communication (Advertising) / Typography Exercises  Lectures  Week 1 (Introduction and Briefing) In our first week, we were introduced to Mr.Vinod and Mr. Shamsul, and we were briefed on the assignments and deadlines of this semester. Not only that, we were briefed on how to create our e-portfolios. We were given step-by-step instructions and ample examples for our reference. Apart from that, we were already given our first task in creating type expressions.   What is "Typography"? It is the act of creating letters. type faces and type families, even animations.
